Education
Learning viola has not only benefitted me musically, but has also in life. These are the tools I wish to share to all students, whether or not music continues to be a part of their lives.
Private Lesson Instruction
I have had more than a decade of experience teaching to students in private instruction settings. My pedagogical background is of a variety that has been passed onto me by various teachers. Each student has a different learning ability and physicality to playing the instrument, which are extremely important elements to consider. This allows me to curate specific guidelines and approaches for each student, such that they can be the most musically expressive with excellent technique and overall health.
Group Lessons and Coaching/Masterclasses
I have been invited many times to coach sectionals and orchestras as a whole. As a violist, I am an inside voice in the orchestra. This allows me to offer a unique perspective of awareness to all students in how they approach performing in large ensembles with their colleagues.
Masterclasses and coaching are also ways I can give guidance to students as soloists and as small-group collaborators. This is an important way to widen their knowledge in not only their repertoire, but also how they approach their own developing artistry.
